60 minute Home Visit

After an initial parent/caregiver consultation you may choose to have a therapeutic play based child life session, with the Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) meeting you at your home, funeral home, or other location to help your child process and cope with their unique situation in a developmentally appropriate way.

This type of session is only available for families within Baltimore County. CCLS will consider further locations with an additional fee to cover travel costs.

This type of session is ideal for: children who cannot leave their home/care area due to physical limitations, accompanying children to funeral services for support, creating keepsake and memorial items near the end of life, accompanying a child to the vet or at home for a euthanasia procedure for a pet, etc..

60 minute therapeutic play session between Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) and the child or teen with specific intervention goals established based on the unique needs discussed during the parent/caregiver session. During this play-based session the CCLS will build rapport with the child or teen and engage in healing activities which could include expressive arts, bibliotherapy, medical play, and other play based modalities to process emotions and experiences related to their unique grief experiences. The last 5-10 minutes of the session are reserved for CCLS and caregiver to discuss the session and any future goals/plans and clean up.
